Sexual Health
What is Sexual Health?
Sexual health refers to a state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being related to sexuality. It involves understanding one's body, making informed choices, and maintaining healthy relationships. Sexual health is not merely the absence of disease but a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships (World Health Organization, 2019). Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences (Gruskin et al., 2019).
Components of Sexual Health
Knowledge: Understanding human anatomy, reproduction, and sexual behavior.
Consent: Recognizing the importance of mutual agreement in sexual activities.
Respect: Valuing oneself and others in relationships.
Safety: Practicing safe sex to prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unintended pregnancies.
